However, as an immovable historical site, it willinevitably become an uncertain factor affecting the fragmentation of modern urban space. Therefore, it is of greatpractical significance to discuss the harmonious symbosis of modern cities and historical sites. The “tuber” theoryshows a network structure with adaptability and flexibility, and its principles of connectivity, heterogeneity and diversityprovide various strategic guidance for the effective connection between the two. By increasing the connectivity withsurrounding plots, enriching the heterogeneity of the self connotation of historical relics, showcasing the symbiosis ofurban culture and the diversity of historical narratives, the Shuomen Ancient Port Site can be harmoniously incorporatedinto the urban space of Wenzhou, in order to provide blocky urban space while reducing fragmented urban landscapes, ultimately to improve residents’ life quality, continue urban cultural memory, enhance the attractiveness of the cityboth internally and externally, strengthen the dissemination of Wenzhou culture and image, and better tell the story ofWenzhou.
